About the Role
As a Customer Service Assistant (Stations) (internally known as Station Assistant / Guard) you’ll play a vital and hands-on role by ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of station activities while helping to deliver a memorable journey for every customer.
This is a casual position based in Normanton.

Purpose that Counts. As a Customer Service Assistant (Stations), some of your duties will include:
• Welcoming customers and deliver friendly, memorable service
• Helping to prepare and service the train—restocking, loading/unloading, and assisting with luggage
• Keeping the station, train, and surrounding areas clean, safe, and presentable
• Platform management including making clear announcements and operate station equipment
• Assisting with bookings, enquiries, and general administration
• Supporting onboard guard duties when required including moving the train (shunting) and securing the train
• Contributing to a safe working environment by identifying hazards and reporting to your leader
Roster / Hours:
• Casual role offering approx. 25 hours per week
• Typically work Monday-Friday between 07:00-15:30
• Some weekend, public holiday and occasional overnight work required
• Opportunities to travel to Croydon when working onboard where shifts may finish as late as 19:00 in July & August only
About you:
• A self-starter who enjoys variety and working outdoors
• Friendly, confident and customer-focused
• A strong communicator who works well in a team
• Comfortable with basic computer tasks
• Safety-conscious and reliable
• Able to lift up to 20kg occasionally
• Hold a current C Class Driver Licence (essential)
Previous cleaning, administration or Rail station / operational experience is helpful but not essential – we’ll train the right person.
