Your Opportunity
Queensland Rail is looking for a trade‑qualified Boilermaker to join our Rockhampton Rollingstock Maintenance Team on an initial 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension for the right person.
In this hands‑on role, you’ll fabricate, weld and modify components across our rollingstock fleet, contributing directly to the safety and reliability of our operations.
We’re seeking an experienced fabricator or Boilermaker who takes pride in high‑quality workmanship and enjoys being part of a supportive, safety‑focused team.
Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:
• Work with other trades and engineers on rollingstock modifications to ensure work is compliant with QR and industry standards.
• Investigate and repair broken or faulty components on rollingstock
• Update important records using the computer
People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:
• Metal Fabricator Trade Cert
• Previous experience boiler making or the fabrication industry
• Willingness to abide by QR’s safe working policies
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
