About our Team

 

As the Storeperson you will play a hands-on and integral role in supporting the Onboard Catering operations in Rockhampton by controlling and organising the flow of stock for our long-distance trains.

You will work closely with the Operations Support Officer on shift however it is an autonomous position which will require you to be a team player with exceptional communication and time management skills in a fast-paced and agile environment.

 

This is a permanent full-time position based in Rockhampton.

Purpose that Counts. As a Storeperson some of your duties will include:

 

  • Ordering, receiving and managing stock.
  • Ensuring safe handling and storage of food is in line with Workplace Health and Safety and food safety standards.
  • Organising the supply of stock to trains as required.
  • Ensuring that the loading and unloading of customer baggage and the removal of storage of rubbish is carried out.
  • Transporting Onboard staff to and from overnight accommodation.
  • Assisting in platform management duties during times of disruption. 
  • General cleaning duties of the food storage, platform and station areas.
  • Working a variety of shifts which will include early mornings, afternoons, nights as well as weekends and public holidays when required.

Hours/ Roster:

 

You will work in a four-week rotating roster which will include a variety of shifts including early starts, late finishes, overnights as well as weekends and public holidays when required.

 

We are looking to connect with someone who has: 

 

  • Previous experience working in stores or warehouses.
  • Previous experience with food storage and food handling hygiene practices is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service to ensure a positive experience. 
  • High attention to detail and a solutions focused approach with a positive attitude looking to succeed within a supportive team environment. 
  • A ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence is highly desirable
