About the Role
In this pivotal role, you'll oversee infrastructure across an expansive corridor across Southwest Queensland. The work is largely field-based and often carried out in remote areas and harsh weather conditions, so resilience, independence, and a strong safety mindset are essential.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting and maintaining track Infrastructure to meet safety and operational standards
- Conducting condition assessments and recording data in asset management systems
- Identifying, prioritising, and actioning defects and maintenance needs
- Coordinating emergency responses as required
- Supporting long-term corridor strategy development and planning
- Preparing and attending planning and management meetings
- Ensuring works are scoped, funded, and scheduled effectively

About You
You’ll bring a strong understanding of track infrastructure and thrive in a role where you can work autonomously across a wide geographic area.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- A Queensland Rail Track Inspector qualification
- A current Driver’s Licence
- Strong experience with SAP and Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS)
- The ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region
Roster & Benefits
- 9 day fortnight roster
- Standard hours: 6:00am – 3:00pm
- Starting base salary $117,000 plus+ 12.75% super, working on the current roster with overtime and penalties you can expect to earn up to $140,000
- Overtime available and generous travel allowance
