Your opportunity

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Major Works Delivery Coordinator based in Toowoomba.

In this role you’ll ensure that major work programs are delivered efficiently on time and to the highest standards. You’ll be at the forefront of project delivery managing resources, coordinating schedules and overseeing quality assurance to keep everything on track.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and manage resources (including rostering) to ensure all major works are planned and delivered effectively, including reviewing scopes and supporting development of work plans and schedules.
  • Provide on-site supervision and quality assurance, including audits, inspections, and final sign-off to ensure compliance with scope, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials and inventory by liaising with planners and monitoring delivery to site.
  •  Foster strong stakeholder relationships through regular consultation, negotiation, and collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Support workforce capability development by coaching and mentoring supervisors and field staff, while promoting safety and compliance with all relevant standards and procedures.

 

Hours and salary

Full-time permanent role based in Toowoomba or the Western Moreton region. Starting salary of $135,000–$146,000 (commensurate with experience). Standard working hours but you must have the flexibility to work on a roster when needed.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of track construction and maintenance standards, including safety practices, measurement, testing, and associated processes.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and deploy resources effectively to achieve project objectives on time and to the required quality.
  • Strong consultation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a conceptual approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Proficiency in using modern information systems and a commitment to working within Queensland Rail’s Values and Behaviours.
