Your opportunity

Working out of our Toowoomba depot, your role is to maximise machine availability by efficiently maintaining, servicing, repairing and performing approved modifications on our world-class resurfacing fleet, earthmoving machinery, specialised rail vehicles and various smaller plant and equipment.

 We are a dedicated team of 10 skilled Plant Fitters and 3 electricians , covering a vast and diverse area stretching from Laidley to Charleville and Warwick to Goondiwindi.

 

In this role you will:

  • Carry out effective and efficient preventative maintenance
  • Practice effective troubleshooting methods to repair plant breakdowns
  • Ensure all aspects of work are compliant with Queensland Rail’s policies and safe work procedures
  • Prepare and provide plant maintenance documentation and reports

 

We are committed to the growth and development of our team. In addition to the training mentioned above, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills further by obtaining a HR truck driver’s license.

 

 

Hours and Salary

  • Working the standard roster on the base rate you can expect a salary of $85,000 plus overtime and penalties as well as a 12.75% superannuation
  • There is flexibility to have various rosters which can be standard 5 days one week and four the next or a 9 days straight and 5 off up to 12 days straight living in motel at our other locations
  • All travel is on work time. You start and finish at the Toowoomba depot

 

 

About you

  • Must have a Mechanical Trade Certificate 3, prefer Diesel Fitter
  • Must hold a current manual drivers’ licence
  • Must have capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
