Your opportunity

Queensland Rail is currently seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Planner – Electrical to join our Asset Maintenance team in Toowoomba. In this critical role, you’ll coordinate and implement electrical maintenance plans across a large regional footprint, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our plant and equipment.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across Regional Queensland, with frequent travel required to deliver scheduled maintenance and support site teams across the region.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement effective maintenance plans for electrical plant and equipment.
  • Coordinate scheduling of works and resource allocation to meet operational timeframes.
  • Ensure maintenance services support plant reliability, safety and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to meet performance outcomes.
  • Monitor and adjust maintenance schedules in response to changing priorities and asset condition.


Hours and Salary

  • The starting base salary is $114,466 plus 12.75% superannuation. With the current roster and applicable penalties, you can expect to earn $120K+ per year.
  • This role offers a varied work schedule, including a mix of 5-day weeks, 4-day weeks, or 9-day work blocks—depending on machinery availability, workload, and location.
  • You will be expected to complete a extensive level of travel
  • Your home station will be Toowoomba, servicing sites across Regional Queensland.

 

 

About you

  • Must have an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Certificate
  • Must hold a current manual drivers’ licence
  • Must have capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
  • Skilled in planning, scheduling, and resource management for plant maintenance operations, with a focus on achieving reliability and operational targets.
  • Strong knowledge of plant fleet standards and maintenance processes, with the ability to analyse issues, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
