Our well-established maintenance team based in Toowoomba are currently seeking a Signal Electrician to join the team on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Team
Reporting to the Co-ordinator wayside systems Toowoomba, you will work within a team that consists of 8 Signal Electricians and 7 Mechanical Systems Maintainers all working closely to cover the region. They are a supportive team that work together to cover large kilometres of our rail network predominately across the Southwest, West Moreton, Near North Coast and Central West.
About the role:
As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world-class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.
In this role you will:
- Install, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment.
- Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment.
- Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.
- Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems.
- Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment irregularities.
- Work predominately between the hours of 0700 to 1600 on a 9-day fortnight
About you:
- Certificate IV Railway Signalling
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting
- Previous experience in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of signalling equipment
- Ability to effectively organise workload
- Must have capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
