About the Role:
We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Queensland Rail’s Travel Centre based in Toowoomba.
Our travel consultants provide high quality, friendly customer service. This role would suit someone with a passion for customer service and a genuine interest in helping people. You will be a quick thinker with an ability to work through problems and provide solutions. You will need to work autonomously in this role. This is a fixed term, full-time role until mid-February 2027.

Purpose That Counts. As a Travel Consultant, some of your duties will include:
- Provide accurate travel advice and complete reservations and ticketing for rail, third‑party and corporate travel.
- Process payments efficiently and ensure every interaction meets our quality assurance standards.
- Drive revenue by up‑selling travel products and encouraging return business.
- Maintain strong product and industry knowledge through ongoing training and familiarisation activities.
- Build positive relationships and maximise goodwill with both internal and external customers.
- Support Queensland Rail Travel operations by following all policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Contribute to a collaborative Customer Contact team and assist with additional duties when required.

Roster/Hours
Shifts are generally between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
You may also be required to travel for work.
We are looking to connect with someone who ideally has:
- A passion for customer service excellence and a commitment to creating positive travel experiences.
- The ability to work within a diverse team in a fast-paced work environment.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills e.g. Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience using travel booking systems would be highly regarded but not essential.
- Previous travel and tourism experience is desirable but not essential.
