We have an opportunity for a Asset Maintenance Coordinator to join our Townsville Team on a permanent full-time basis. 

 

Your opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the allocation and deployment of resources to successfully deliver both operational and capital work packages. You will be an integral member of a planning team, ensuring that all assets are maintained in a condition that meets their intended purpose. 


You will be responsible for coordinating all direct work teams and contractors to achieve desired business outcomes while maintaining safety and performance targets. As a member of the Asset Maintenance North, you will deliver essential infrastructure maintenance, rail traffic management services, and support for Regional Queensland. 


Flexibility to travel and work across the St Lawrence to Cardwell in particular Ayr to Nome. Additionally, you will be part of an on-call roster


About the role: 
•    Manage installation, maintenance and renewal activities within acceptable risk level and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
•    Provide effective and efficient coordination of required resources to meet defined work schedules to support the achievement of asset availability and condition targets.
•    Provide expert operational advice to the Asset Manager and Asset Planning Coordinator for the strategic development of Asset Management Plans, corridor plans, schedules and project submissions including feedback on asset reliability and opportunities for improvement.
•    Coach and manage staff training, development, performance, succession planning and recruitment in accordance with standards, specifications, procedures and legislative requirements to ensure the labour resource is suitably skilled to effectively and efficiently deliver asset management services to meet customer expectations.
•    Achieve financial targets through effective management of costs for labour, inventory, consumables, plant, equipment and other assets  which deliver the right service at agreed cost; Implement effective cost control measures to manage this outcome.


About you: 
Highly organised and resilient individual with experience leading a team
•    Must have an Australian Drivers Licence 
•    Previous experience in supervising staff, work activities and resources
•    Structures (bridges, culverts) skill set in carrying out technical investigations, implementing improvement initiatives, and undertaking maintenance work in line with the Civil Engineering Track Standards.  
•    Knowledge of budget monitoring, control techniques as well as the relevant Legislation as applicable to the work group and its activities
•    Large range of skillset in the coordination and deployment of resources to achieve business outcomes.
•    High level of financial management skills to enable achievement of the financial performance of the area while remaining customer focused and driven to improve business results.

•    9-day fortnight generally between the hours of 0700 to 1600 however flexibility is required to work outside of these hours, on weekends and public holidays when required
