We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Systems Fitter to join our Townsville team on a permanent full-time basis.

- Starting base salary of $69,000 + applicable penalties and allowances + 12.75% super + opportunities for overtime

Purpose that Counts
As a Mechanical Systems Fitter you will work within a team of 28 reporting to the Co-ordinator Wayside Support.
You will be response for:
- Install, maintain, upgrade and repair Signal cabins, ground frames and generators throughout the district.
- Repair and upgrade mechanical signalling equipment (e.g., snubbers) and ensure safe, reliable operation
- Perform welding, general fitting and fabrication tasks to support installation, maintenance and equipment upgrades
- Assess and document asset condition and performance to support compliance and operational safety

Hours/Roster
- This role typically follows a 5 on, 2 off, 4 on, 3 off roster.
- You must be available to work away when required. Travel away is usually 9 days straight however can be up to 12 days a time.
- While working away, you'll receive a working away allowance, plus penalty rates for weekend work and overtime.
- Overtime is available based on business needs and in compliance with our fatigue management policy.

- Open drivers licence (mandatory)
- Eng Trades Cert – Mechanical (mandatory)
- Fitting and turning experience is advantageous.
- Experience with drawings and plans is advantageous.
