About this role

 

Based at one of our Regional depots of Maryborough, Bundaberg or Toowoomba, you will join a small team of Signalling Engineers, responsible for providing high-level technical expertise and support for Queensland Rail’s regional Signalling Systems, including the associated signalling infrastructure.

 

In this role, you'll be responsible for providing engineering support and safety advice to our valued stakeholders. Your success in this role will be determined by your ability to identify and resolve complex technical problems, all while ensuring that signalling standards adhere to both Queensland Rail's guidelines and industry best practices.

 

This is a permanent, fulltime role with a base salary between $138,00 to 148,000 + 12.75% super + Overtime + Oncall allowance

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide engineering support for Regional Assets maintenance and operational services
  • Provide on call support on a 1 in 4 rotating roster.
  • Track and investigate faults/incidences
  • Provide documentation and testing and commissioning for railway signal engineering infrastructure projects
  • Enhance Queensland Rail's commercial outcomes by proactively initiating, developing and reinforcing strong stakeholder relationships
  • Liaise with Regional Assets Management on strategic maintenance planning matters and provide whole-of-life-cycle analysis data and recommendations

 

 

About you

 

  • Extensive knowledge of Signalling Systems and equipment
  • Strong understanding of Signalling Safe-working Principles, encompassing testing and commissioning protocols for safety-critical signalling systems
  • Substantial level of technical and operational skill in investigating Signalling incidents
  • Proficient in efficiently coordinating small teams within project and maintenance settings

 

 

To be considered for this role you must have:

 

  • Bachelor Engineering Electrical/Electronic Degree from an accredited Australian University OR be able to provide evidence of Queensland Rail accepted equivalent that is assessed and recognised by Engineers Australia, the national professional body for Engineers in Australia.  
  • C Class Drivers Licence
