As a Signalling Engineer in our Regional Assets team, you’ll work across office and field environments, solving complex technical challenges and contributing to projects that matter. Every day brings something new and your work will help keep Queensland connected.

About the Role

 

Based at one of our regional depots - Rockhampton, Maryborough, Bundaberg, or Toowoomba - you’ll join a skilled team of Signalling Engineers supporting Queensland Rail’s regional signalling systems and infrastructure.

 

You’ll provide expert engineering advice, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure our systems meet both internal standards and industry best practices. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and reliability of our network.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver engineering support for regional maintenance and operations
  • Participate in a 1-in-4 rotating on-call roster
  • Investigate faults and incidents across the network
  • Prepare documentation and support testing/commissioning of signalling projects
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes
  • Advise on strategic maintenance planning and lifecycle analysis

 

About You

 

You’re a technically skilled and solutions-focused professional with:

 

  • Deep knowledge of signalling systems and equipment
  • Strong grasp of signalling safe-working principles and safety-critical protocols
  • Proven experience investigating signalling incidents
  • Ability to lead small teams in project and maintenance environments

 

Qualifications & Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited Australian university, or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia
  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence
