We have an opportunity for a Structures Maintenance Supervisor Level 3 to join our Regional North Structures Team based on Townsville on a permanent full-time basis.
In this position, you will be responsible for effectively manage and co-ordinate the allocation and deployment of resources within the area of responsibility including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely bridge and structures maintenance on behalf of Queensland Rail. To supply and manage information as required to support the effective and efficient management of structures infrastructure within the area of responsibility.

Purpose That Counts. You’ll make a meaningful contribution by:

Planning, coordinating and managing work programs and resources to achieve structures asset availability, condition and performance targets in a safe, timely and costeffective manner.

Overseeing operational delivery including audits, emergency response, speed restriction management and corrective actions to address defects and KPI performance.

Supporting workforce capability through training, competency management, performance development, succession planning and recruitment in line with organisational and legislative requirements.

Managing budgets and operating costs, including labour, plant, inventory and consumables, ensuring accurate cost forecasting, monitoring and reporting.

Promoting safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to policies, standards and legislative obligations.

Managing physical assets, plant, equipment and depots to maximise availability, optimise utilisation and minimise lifecycle costs.

Providing accurate operational, financial and performance reporting to support governance, decisionmaking and management processes.
People Who Count. To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Demonstrated expertise in bridge and structures construction and maintenance standards, systems, processes and associated costs.

Proven capability in prioritising, planning, programming and managing resources to deliver structures maintenance activities.
-
Welldeveloped leadership ability, supported by strong communication, people management, industrial relations and negotiation skills.
-
Strong competence in cost estimation, cost breakdown and apportionment, along with budget monitoring and cost control methodologies.

Extensive experience applying Queensland Rail’s Zero Harm philosophy in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Management policies, including effective loss control techniques.

Sound proficiency in the use of Queensland Rail and Network systems and applications, including SAP R3, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS).

Commitment to working in alignment with Queensland Rail’s Values and Behaviours.
Other Requirements:

Regular intrastate travel, including camping away from home for extended periods.

Working semiautonomously within agreed guidelines and direction.

Availability for callouts and emergency response outside normal working hours.

Coordinating and conducting structures inspections and audits.
-
Undertaking additional training and completing other duties as directed.
