About the role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structures Maintenance Supervisor Level 3 to join our Regional Assets Team located at either our Ayr or Townsville depots.

 

In this role, you will efficiently manage and coordinate the allocation and deployment of resources, including personnel, vehicles, equipment, and inventory, to ensure the safe, cost-effective and timely maintenance of bridges and structures.

 

 Key focuses

 

  • Provide effective and efficient management of the workgroup's resources and activities
  • Conduct audits of completed work, arrange emergency response and, impose, modify, remove, review and report on speed restrictions as required
  • Assist in the management of costs for labour, inventory, consumables, plant, equipment and other assets
  • Manage allocated inventory, plant, equipment, motor vehicles and depots to achieve required availability and minimum asset costs

  

About you

 

You will be responsible for a team of ten Bridgeworkers, requiring strong relationship-building and communication skills to effectively lead your team and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Substantial knowledge of bridge and structures construction and maintenance standards and associated costs
  • Substantial level of skills in prioritising, planning, programming and resource management of structures maintenance activities
  • Substantial leadership, communication, people management, industrial relations and negotiation skills
  • Substantial level of skill in the estimation, breakdown and apportionment of costs
  • Substantial level of skill in the implementation of Queensland Rail's Zero harm philosophy
  • Sound level of skill in the use of QR and Network computer applications including SAP R3, Microsoft suite and Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS).
