At Queensland Rail, your career growth really matters. Based in Townsville, Operational Services Mt Isa Line is looking for an experienced Telecommunications System Officer to join their multidisciplinary team on a permanent full-time basis in Townsville to assist in technical inspections, maintenance, repairs and project delivery for telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and systems across the Townsville to Mt Isa Rail Line.
You will also be responsible for providing technical support in the maintenance of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and systems. This includes radio systems, transmission systems, telemetry and SCADA, and IP network equipment.
As a Telecommunications System Officer you will be responsible for:
- Performing technical inspections / quality audits and implement procedures relating to the maintenance of telecommunications systems and equipment
- Investigating and reporting on systems and equipment failures and performance anomalies
- Performing testing, commissioning and maintenance of equipment and systems
- Monitoring equipment and system performance and recommend improvement initiatives
- Maintaining all records relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems

To be considered for this position you will need:
- ACMA Open Cabler Registration
- Drivers Licence (Manual)
- Electrical Licence (Restricted)
- Be available for call out/stand by duties, overtime and higher-grade relief as required
- Work away from home station and travel throughout Queensland as required
- Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
