About the team

This position is based at our Bohle depot in Townsville. The team consists of ten communications professionals who work together to cover the region from Rockhampton to Cardwell.

 

About the role 

As a Telecommunications Technician you will carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications and electronic equipment to ensure safe and effective operation. This role would be best suited to those with proven experience with radio & transmission systems and remote monitoring equipment. A considerable amount of work is conducted out in the field, so you must be able to travel away and work in a variety of locations.

 

In this role you will:

  • Install, maintain and repair telecommunication and electronic equipment
  • Maintain records and associated documentation
  • Report on actual work performed against the scheduled maintenance program
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications, including work performed by subordinates

 

About you

  • Sound skill in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of telecommunications equipment and systems
  • Driver’s License
  • Electronics Trade Certificate (similar qualifications in electronics considered)
  • Must have capacity to travel and work within Regional Queensland
  • Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends when required
