In this exciting permanent full time role in Townsville, you will join a team that values your skills and dedication to safe and efficient rail operations to connect Queensland and our Communities driving the SOQ & Adhoc Diesel Train Services.

During the 10-week training you must be available for the entire school, leave is not permitted. The forecasted training start date will be 27th July 2026 – subject to change at short notice.

• $148,620:63 annual Regional Full Flat Rate in cycle (4 weeks) plus additional allowances, OT and 12.75% superannuation

New agreement (TBC) effective 31 December 2026

• Weekend penalties payable after working 26 Saturdays
• Reduction in cycle time from 160 hrs to 152 hrs over 4 weeks and introduction of a 9-day fortnight

Eligibility for interview

• Apply with Cover Letter outlining your driving experience including types of traction and locations/routes. 
• Hold Certificate in Train Driving - original must be presented prior to the next stage
• Hold a current C Class Drivers Licence.
• Meet safety critical benchmark for psychometric assessment (conducted after application in Queensland)
• Confirm you will relocate to Townsville if successful, and understand you will not be eligible to change depot locations for a minimum of two years plus as per the EA.

DEL Traction experience and QLD safeworking qualification are preferred.
