Tradesperson's Assistant

Your Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a skilled Tradesperson’s Assistant (Electrical/Mechanical) to provide electrical/mechanical maintenance whilst working as a member of a team carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance for the objective of providing optimum reliability and availability of the infrastructure Plant Maintenance Fleet. This is a temporary full-time position until 1st of July 2027.

• Undertaking general duties as a store person working with QR inventory.
• Assist Tradesperson's in mechanical/electrical repairs/maintenance of on-track plant as required
• Manage effectively the development, implementation and monitoring of the requirements of the QR Services Integrated Management System Business and Divisional Instructions to control and minimise loss to people, property, processes and environment within their section of QR Services

This Role Will Be Ideal for People Who:

• Possess sound level of skill in maintenance, fault finding and repair used on rail maintenance specific plant and equipment
• HR License would be advantageous
• Enjoy hands-on, practical work in an operational environment.
• Are safety-conscious and committed to adhering to strict safety and compliance standards.
• Work well both independently and within a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Are willing to work a flexible roster, including occasional on-call and emergency response duties.
• Have a strong work ethic and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.

Location & Work Environment:

This role is based at Brisbane with travel required to various sites within the Queensland Rail network. You will work in an outdoor, hands-on environment, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of key electrical assets.
