As our Senior Manager – Rail Management Centre, you will drive the safe, reliable, and sustainable delivery of rail services that enhance customer journeys and connect communities every day.

In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee the strategic and operational performance of the Rail Management Centre. You’ll lead highperforming teams, champion operational excellence, and ensure a coordinated, customercentred approach to service delivery across the network.

 

What You’ll Lead and Deliver for a Purpose that Counts 

  • Contribute as a key member of the RMC & Operations leadership team, providing senior leadership on critical operational matters within a dynamic, integrated passenger and rail infrastructure environment. This includes shaping effective strategy, leading customer and stakeholder engagement, maintaining business partnerships, ensuring financial and commercial excellence, and demonstrating strong people leadership.
  • Develop and implement business unit strategies and plans aligned to organisational goals, monitor performance against these objectives, and use business insights to initiate corrective actions and drive continuous improvement where required.
  • Provide overall leadership of the Rail Management Centre, including workforce planning, succession planning, talent management, employee engagement, and capability development to ensure the achievement of RMC and broader business strategies.
  • Ensure the RMC operates to high standards of governance and good business practice, including meeting all safety, operational, financial, and compliance requirements. Oversee and coordinate all functions within the scope of the role to deliver on business expectations.
  • Build, maintain, and promote strong working relationships between the RMC, relevant functional areas, and internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of business outcomes and network performance.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, supporting new ideas, enhancing work practices and processes, and effectively managing change across the RMC.

We are looking for candidates who can bring:

  • Extensive leadership experience in a Rail or Transport Operations environment
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen combined with a passion for safety and operational excellence.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at Bowen Hills (Brisbane), offering a competitive remuneration package and relocation if required.
