Mechanical/Electrical Fitter Projects

We currently have several 12-month fixed term full-time opportunities for Mechanical & Electrical Fitters to join our team in the Rockhampton Rollingstock Workshop. You will provide a service to ensure safe, efficient and effective preventative maintenance and repairs of various types of our rollingstock fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver projects and modifications to 1720 locomotives in line with relevant drawings, specifications, procedures and instructions, including commissioning, testing and fault rectification
- Contribute to refurbishment programs and maintain reliability and availability through preventative maintenance and repairs on locomotive rollingstock
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet work requirements, assist with scheduling, and support component handling processes
What we’re looking for
- High-level skills in interpreting and applying drawings, documents, and specifications.
- Expertise in preventative and unscheduled maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on locomotives or similar rollingstock.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision, supported by sound knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
- Strong understanding of electrical work requirements
Remuneration
This 12-month fixed-term, full-time role in Rockhampton offers a competitive salary starting at $83,940 for a 76-hour fortnight, with potential to earn up to $103,000 plus super once fully qualified, excluding overtime and allowances.
