About the role


The Materials Officer will work within our Gracemere Depot, located in Central Queensland, that is easily accessible by road, rail, bus or air and only 30 minutes to the coastal resort community of Yeppoon. As a Materials Officer, you will have an important role to play to ensure the supply of components for the rollingstock, and equipment and materials for the on-site team.  This includes the ordering, storage and retrieval of inventory required to keep the fleet in service.  


Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:

 

•    Provide quality customer service when supplying and storing components, consumables, tools and equipment and keep good relations with the Rollingstock Assets Facility
•    Ensure availability of parts by maintaining inventory control and supply function on a regular basis
•    Guarantee accuracy of data and information Materials Management System
•    Use machinery such as stock picker and forklift to load and unload materials

•    Experience and knowledge of inventory management processes
•    High level technical skills using various computer programs/ software and using Microsoft Office tools
•    Excellent communication skills – with ability to establish and develop working relationships with stakeholders
